Nicknamed Braveheart for his swashbuckling performances for Rovers and Scotland, Hendry played a crucial role in Blackburn’s greatest achievement, winning the Premier League title in 1995.

Hendry had two spells at Ewood Park, and played for Manchester City and Glasgow Rangers, before ending his career with spells at Bolton, Preston and Blackpool.

Hendry has endured a troubled personal life, beginning with the tragic passing of his wife Denise in 2009.

A year later he was declared bankrupt and has been trying to piece his life back together.

Hendry will wind back the clock, recalling success and then the darker days following retirement at the Grand Theatre, Clitheroe, on May 10. Tickets from 01200 421599.
