Green was left out of the squad for Brig’s 2-2 draw at Glossop North End and Crowe confirmed he has left the club but says he has not signed for another team.

And Crowe rubbished rumours that midfield duo Nicky Platt and Jamie Milligan had also left the club.

He said: “Darren Green has left the club.

“We wish him well.

“He has done well, served us well and had some good games but these things happen in football.”

And Crowe also revealed that former Blackpool midfielder Matty Kay has been taken off the transfer list.

He said: “Matty Kay came back into the squad on Saturday and he has come off the transfer list.”

But Crowe says there may be a couple more people heading for the exit door.

He said; “There may be a couple more players going. I’m not looking to add more players, I’ve got to trim the squad.”

Brig are set to play Lancaster City in the Doodson Cup at the Sir Tom Finney stadium but Crowe believes the game may be called off if it continues to rain.

He said: “I don’t see much in it being on because of the weather.

“There is a drain collapse on the pitch and it has been constantly raining.”

Brig have not won in their four games and Crowe hopes his men can get over their recent ‘blip’ in from if they face Lancaster or on Saturday when they host Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Brig are 12th in the NPL First Division North table and Harrogate are currently occupying a relegation spot.

And Crowe is confident his men can rise up the table.

He said: “We are still confident we can get out of this mini blip.

“There are about 25 games left and we just need to keep doing things the right way and I’m sure it will turn sooner or later.”
