A statement on Albion’s official website said: “Anders Lindegaard has had his Albion contract cancelled by mutual consent and is now a free agent.

“After joining the club from Manchester United, goalkeeper Lindegaard made one appearance for the Baggies – starting September’s League Cup defeat against Norwich City.

“Following the return to fitness of Albion No.1 Ben Foster, the 32-year-old stopper joined Championship outfit Preston North End for the second half of last season, where he played 14 games.

“The club would like to thank Anders for his efforts over the past 18 months and wish him well in his future career.”
