Euxton Villa to begin new North West Counties season with trip to Bacup Borough

The 41st instalment of the North West Counties League will begin later this month.

The first round of fixtures for 2022/23 season will take place on Saturday, July 30.

Euxton Villa – newly promoted from the West Lancashire League – will begin their NWC adventure when they travel to Bacup Borough in the First Division North.

The following Tuesday, they will make the trip to Cleator Moor Celtic and will stage their first home game seven days’ later when when Darwen are the visitors.

Charnock Richard enjoyed a fine campaign in the Premier Division last time out and they will hope to improve on their final fourth-place finish.

The 2022 Macron Cup winners begin the season with the visit of Padiham to Mossie Park.

However, before that, they will host Skelmersdale United in the Reusch Champions Cup final on Saturday, July 23.

It will be three home games in succession for Charnock when they entertain Squires Gate on Tuesday, August 2.

The Villagers’ first away game in the league sees them head to Wythenshawe Town, who finished third last season, on Tuesday, August 9.

Longridge Town will hope for better after a season of midtable mediocrity.

Lee Ashcroft’s men will start off with a home game against Congleton Town on the opening day which will be followed by a trip to Burscough the following Tuesday.

The Linnets begin their campaign with an away game at Prestwich Heys.

Kendal Town return to the North West Counties following their relegation from the Northern Premier League.

They will be keen to bounce back quickly and open up with an away trip to Vauxhall Motors and then visit Barnoldswick Town the following Tuesday.

Kendal’s first game at Parkside Road in the league will be on Tuesday, August 9 with AFC Bury the visitors.

Garstang begin their First Division North campaign when they host Nelson at the Riverside.

They then entertain Bacup Borough on Wednesday, August 3 before travelling to Atherton LR the following Tuesday.
