Dickie Danson’s family has said they would like to thank everyone for their support and the many sincere messages of condolence after the news of his death.

Because of Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral will be held next Wednesday, April 7.

However, for anyone wishing to pay their respects, the funeral cortege will be visiting the Mazuma Stadium between 2.30pm and 3pm.

Danson’s family asks that everyone who is attending respects the current government guidelines concerning social distancing and mask wearing.

A livestream of the funeral service will also be made available for anyone who would like to attend virtually.

It will be accessible for 28 days afterwards with further information available by contacting Andy Livingstone on 07799 692345.

Anyone who wishes to make a donation in Danson’s memory is asked to contact Preston Ireland and Bowker funeral directors.

All donations will go to St John’s Hospice and Marie Curie.
