Chorley fans can buy a virtual ticket for huge FA Cup clash against Wolves

Chorley supporters have the opportunity to buy a virtual ticket for their mouth-watering FA Cup clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And help the club go somewhere to filling a gaping £500,000 hole in the club's finances brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Magpies host the Premier League outfit at Victory Park in the fourth round of the competition.

As per usual since football at elite level returned following the first national lockdown last year, the game will be played behind closed doors.

But fans can help the Magpies recoup some of that lost revenue by purchasing a virtual ticket.

Chief execitive officer Terry Robinson said: "It’s been well documented the struggles football clubs up and down the country have faced since March, and are situation is no different.

"No spectators and severely reduced revenue streams, while trying to put together a team that can compete. The FA Cup has been a saviour for us, and now we’re looking at ways the cup run can help us for the rest of the season and into the following seasons, too.

"Virtual tickets is one way of giving football fans the option of being part of our FA Cup run, while also helping us bridge what is a huge gap in revenue."

Fans were able to buy a virtual ticket for the third-round tie against Derby County and the club have announced details for the fixture against Wolves.

A virtual ticket is an online donation to Chorley FC, Chorley FC Supporters Trust (CFCST) and the Chorley FC Community Foundation (CFCCF). No physical tickets are available.

Fans have three options available. They can purchase a ticket for £10and all the proceeds will go to Chorley FC or they can pay £15 of which £10 will go to Chorley FC and £5 split between CFCST and CFCCF

The third option is a £20 donation of which £10 will go to Chorley FC and £5 each will be handed to CFCST & CFCCF.
