Just like Saturday’s original tie at the Clayborn Ground, the Magpies bossed the first half. This time out, scoring twice early on to stun the visitors.

With three minutes gone Jon Ustabaşı was on hand to tap home off an Adam Blakeman corner. This was followed 20 minutes later by an Ollie Shenton header off a sublime Billy Whitehouse cross.

Inbetween the visitors threatened through James Walshaw, who worked Matt Urwin twice in quick succession, but otherwise the Magpies were untroubled by their lower level opponents.

The home side’s third arrived eight minutes into the second half when Connor Hall tucked away a penalty after Sedge goalie Jordan Porter felled Shenton in the area.

Sheer gluttony followed in the final half hour as Hall, an own goal, Ustabaşı’s second and third, Whitehouse and Will Tomlinson – who also missed a penalty – all found the net for the rampant hosts, ensuring progression with the minimum amount of fuss.
