Chorley 2, Buxton 3: Magpies left pointless despite late fightback against Bucks
Chorley were left empty-handed despite a late fightback as Buxton claimed a 3-2 victory in horrendous weather conditions at Victory Park.
Goals from Mike Calveley and Adam Blakeman proved insufficient for Andy Preece’s side, with Sisa Tuntulwana, Kieran Burton and Johnny Johnston finding the net for the visitors.

Jordan Broadbent’s side took the lead in the 36th minute. Tony Weston broke down the right and attempted to square the ball across goal. The ball held up in the wet conditions, allowing Tuntulwana to arrive and fire home.

Chorley responded almost immediately. Just two minutes later, Blakeman’s long throw was cleared back to the defender, who delivered a deep cross towards the far post. Calveley was on hand to head home.
However, Buxton regained the advantage five minutes later. Tuntulwana’s cross once again held up in the penalty area, and captain Burton reacted quickest to place his finish into the corner.
The visitors extended their lead thanks to Johnston’s lead before Blakeman gave Chorley hope in the 87th minute. His free-kick from just over 25 yards caused problems for Logan Stretch, who failed to deal with the effort and punched the ball into the roof of his own net.
Chorley pushed for a late equaliser but Steven Bala’s volley flashed narrowly wide of the post.
