Mowbray has overseen two wins and four draws, the 2-2 draw at Fulham on Tuesday night lifting them out of the bottom three. This is Mowbray’s sixth managerial post, having been in charge at Hibernian, West Bromwich, Celtic, Middlesbrough and Coventry. He had been out of work since leaving Coventry in September.

MEET THE REF: Stuart Attwell

The Premier League official is in charge of PNE’s clash with Blackburn at Ewood Park. It is the first time Mr Attwell has refereed Preston since the 1-1 draw with MK Dons last April when he sent off MK keeper Cody Cropper – Joe Garner’s penalty was saved by striker Alex Revell who went in goal. Mr Attwell has refereed seven games in the top flight this season, the latest being Everton’s win over Sunderland last month. Sian Massey is one of the assistants at Ewood.
