Bamber Bridge face battle for home advantage in play-offs
The two teams are directly next to each other in the NPL First Division North table with fourth-placed Brig a point and a place ahead of the Merseysiders.
The two teams are almost certain to finish in fourth and fifth spot in the table, the only unknown being which one will finish above the other.
Whoever secures fourth spot will benefit from home advantage in the subsequent one-legged play-off semi-final.
“Prescot are just a point behind us in the table and it’s looking like it will be a battle for home advantage in the play-offs,” Reynolds said.
“They have done great this season, but we will go there with confidence. We won 4-1 there in the cup earlier in the season and then beat them 1-0 at home in the league. It’s going to be tough.”
Brig had to show all of their battling qualities on Saturday to earn a point at home to Colne. Alex Curran gave the visitors – who still have an outside chance of finishing in sixth spot and reaching the play-offs – the lead in the first half, but a Jamie Milligan
penalty late on earned a point for the home side.
“Again we showed character to come back from 1-0 down. It’s a great point,” said Reynolds.
Meanwhile, Brig skipper Matt Lawlor has been named in the NPL First Division North's team of the season.
