Nostalgia night for '˜Ashy'

A football nostagia evening will be held later this month in honour of popular former local league player, manager and admininstrator Dave '˜Ashy' Aspden, who passed away earlier this year.

The event will take place on Friday, March 24 at St Anthony’s Social Centre on Cadley Causeway, commencing 7:30pm.

A new trophy has beeen purchased by the event’s organising committee for Preston Schools’ Football Association, which could possiblybe presented to the player of the year.

The informal evening will allow footballers to reminisce about their playing days and is open to players past and present.

The event will also be a fundraiser for Preston Schools’ Football Association, Rosemere Cancer Care and Vine House Cancer Care, in Cromwell Road, Preston.

Admission is £5 by pay on the door and includes a pie and peas supper – served at 9pm. Everyone is welcome to attend, so if you have been player, referee, administrator in the game then please come along and meet old friends.

The evening is being sponsored by Trade Windows, which is based in Preston.
