After the controversy of their first meeting in February, it is believed the Chorley star will get his second shot at a world title in November back in Glasgow at the OVO Hydro arena.

However, while the first fight was for all four world titles at super-lightweight, it appears the second go-around will have just one title on the line.

Taylor has already given up his WBC and WBA titles as he elected not to take up mandatory obligations with those governing bodies.

Now it looks like the same will happen with the IBF, according to his Top Rank promoter Bob Arum.

That would mean just the WBO title would be on the line in the rematch - another bitter pill to swallow for Catterall who in the eyes of most observers had done more than enough to become the undisputed champion in enemy territory earlier this year.

Taylor did indicate initially that he would move up to welterweight, but he has instead stuck around at 140lbs in order to facilitate the rematch with Catterall.

For his part, Catterall has recently signed a multi-fight deal with Boxxer, who co-promoted the first fight, that will see him appear on Sky Sports for the foreseeable future.

The fighters have exchanged bitter insults on social media since that night in February with the stage set for a far more heated contest than the first, even if fewer belts are up for grabs.
