BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026 will bring a star-studded line-up to Herrington Country Park in Sunderland over the bank holiday weekend, with names including Olivia Dean, Niall Horan and Dermot Kennedy taking to the stage.
As the excitement builds each year, it always brings back memories of Radio 1 arriving in Preston in 2007.
Although it was 19 years ago, memories of the big blue festival tent taking over Preston’s Moor Park, along with headline performances from Scissor Sisters, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, Kaiser Chiefs and Rihanna, will live long in every Prestonian’s mind.
Were you there? Here, we look back at some of the scenes from the two-day festival.
