6. Demolition of the Prince's Theatre & Regent Ballroom, Tithebarn Street, Preston 1964 The ground is being cleared to make way for the new Buckingham Bingo Hall and St. John's Shopping arcade. As a point of reference, the lantern of the Harris Library can be seen left of centre. The bulldozer is pulling on a chain threated through two holes cut into the masonary to demolish the end of the building. The Prince's Theatre was built by Henry Hemfey in 1882, It was initially called 'The New Gaiety Palace of Varieties'. Will Onda later took over the premises. Preston Digital Archive
