Plans have been submitted for a new children’s home in Preston.

Last week, Preston City Council received an application seeking a Certification of lawfulness for the proposed change of use of 28 Booklands Avenue from a dwellinghouse (class C3) to a children’s care home (class c2).

Submitted by Sigature Hotel Group, the plans confirm the change of use has not yet started.

If approved, the care home would care for two children aged 11-17 with two staff at any one time providing 24 hour care.

A Certificate of Lawfulness is sought as the applicant states that the proposal would not result in a material change of use from the existing lawful C3 use, the property remaining residential in character.
