When Suzanne Juniper and Daniel Harrison tied the knot , they opted for something completely different.

Their unusual and alternative theme was ‘Steampunk meets Alice in Wonderland’ – a kind of fantasy meets modern technology with a twist from the history books of the 1800s.

And the guests did their hosts proud by truly embracing Suzanne and Daniels creative and artistic wedding day.

Suzanne, an academic registrar from New Longton, and Daniel, who is from Hesketh Bank an is an ICT instrastructure officer, tied the knot at Ferrari’s Country House Hotel in Thornley, near Longridge.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

They met at the Golden Ball in Longton and Daniel made a romanic proposal over afternoon tea at The Savoy in London.

Suzanne said: “Our guests’ engagement with our Steampunk meets Alice in Wonderland theme really made the day special.

“So many people had crafted their own imaginative outfits.”

Daniel said: “Everything came together perfectly in our desired alternative period style.

“Everyone seemed suitably surprised by how our theme came to life through the attire and the detailed displays we put together.”

The bride’s mum, Vivien Hastewell created the bride’s bouquet and button holes designed from the pages of old books.

And the wedding cake was made by Lindsay Peralta from Croston-based Thyme on the Yarrow.

Suzanne added: “It was a truly spectacular day for us both.

“Seeing the results of months of hard work by so many people made it all worthwhile.

“We are extremely grateful to all involved for making our wedding day so special.”

The couple spent their honeymoon in Bruges, Belgium.
