Yes there are sheep on the roof of The Flower Bowl near Garstang

They’re baa-ck!

You could be forgiven for driving past The Flower Bowl at Barton Grange and doing a double take after spotting sheep on the roof - but this is exactly the case.

A flock of sheep are making themselves at home in the Lancashire skyline.

The entertainment centre has seen the wooly creatures return to the roof of the Flower Bowl for the first time since the Covid pandemic.

However, these aren’t your average ‘baa baa black sheep’ - these are well-educated ones, having ventured from Myerscough College to the roof.

The sheep were given to Barton Grange by nearby Myserscough College, and kept in place on the roof with a five-foot high fence around the perimeter. They even have their own staircase to come up and down as they please.

A spokesperson for the Flower Bowl said: “We had sheep on the roof here before Covid and they are from Myerscough College which is just down the road and looked after by a local farmer.

“We got them back on the 4th of October. We have six sheep - five females and one male.

“They eat the grass which maintains it so we don’t have to mow it ourselves.”

They added: “Obviously it fits well within the local landscaping that’s why the grass is on this roof just so it does fit in with the rest of the area.

“It’s lovely to see how energetic they are running around. They are obviously loving it up here which the local community will like to see as well.”
