Wyre MP given new role in PM reshuffle
MP for Wyre and Preston North, Ben Wallace, has been promoted and named as the new minister of state for security at the home office.
Mr Wallace has been a member of parliament since being elected in 2005 and has served as parliamentary private secretary to Ken Clarke MP, been a government whip and until recently was parliamentary under secretary of state Northern Ireland office.

Hide AdAnd the MP admits he has a tough task ahead and says public safety is a top priority after recent events across the globe.
The 46-year-old Conservative member of parliament said in a statement: “I am honoured to be the new security minister and I look forward to getting into the role as quickly as possible. Events abroad and at home mean we have much work to do in order to ensure the public’s safety. I do not underestimate the task ahead but, it is one I am looking forward to.”
