Workmen discover human remains in city centre
Lancashire County Council’s highways team were excavating the road outside Preston Minster when they stumbled upon human remains and alerted the police at 9.20am.
Police officers are still at the scene of the gruesome discovery and Inspector Paul McLernon speculated that the remains may be a hundred years old - although the police can not confirm how old the bones are until they have been tested.
