A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a van in Preston.

The casualty - a woman in her 50s - was struck near the surgery in Fishergate Hill shortly after 12.30pm this afternoon (April 20).

Police cordoned off the area while paramedics attended the scene.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said they were unable to provide any more information at this time.

"There’s unfortunately no injury details on the log," they added.

Lancashire Police has been approached for more information.
