Wilma Hill, 65, collapsed at the station on Sunday
morning.

Fylde Rugby Club’s
medical team, scrum half Greg Nicholls, and physios Greg Laidler and Megan Stewart were praised after they came to her aid. The trio were part of the Fylde squad making the journey to London for a match at Richmond when they gave the woman CPR and used a defibrillator to shock her
before paramedics arrived.

Mrs Hill was later taken to Lancaster Royal Infirmary in her home city but she died on January 13.

In a statement the family have thanked the rugby club for coming to her aid saying: “They gave us a few days to sit by her bed and say our goodbyes.”

Earlier in the week, Mrs Hill’s son Darren,
speaking on behalf of the whole
family, wrote to the rugby club to thank the medics for their actions.

He said: “I cannot thank you enough and I am for ever in your debt.”
