Preston weather: This is when rain will be at its heaviest across the city today

Following a rather wet start to the day across Preston, the Met Office is predicting more heavy bursts of rain throughout the day.

The Met Office forecast for the North West on Tuesday says the day will be "cold and windy with sunny spells, but plenty of wintry showers streaming in from the north west, some falling as snow, even to low levels.

"There is the added risk of a few rumbles of thunder in the heavier showers."
