The money was raised after the club once again turned its annual Flat Tank and Girder Fork Run into a Rosemere ride-out.

More than 40 bikes qualified for entry to the event, which takes its name from some of the earliest motorcycles produced. These machines had flat-sided petrol tanks and either solid or girder forks, an upright form of front suspension.

Riders set out from Goosnargh Village Hall before completing a 50-mile route through the Trough of Bowland, with stops in Dunsop Bridge and Waddington, before returning to the hall.

Along the way, they were cheered on by around 30 motorcycle enthusiasts who turned out to watch.

Yvonne Stott, fundraiser for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: “Our thanks to all Central Lancs VMCC members who took part in this annual run on Rosemere’s behalf.

“We are very appreciative of their support and their donation, which also included money from spectators as well as riders.”

Rosemere Cancer Foundation works to bring world-class cancer treatments and services to patients across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
