Vice Lord-Lieutenant appointed

A new Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire has been appointed.

Lord Shuttleworth, the Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire has, with the Queen’s approval, appointed Colonel Alan Jolley to take on the role.

Col Jolley will act as Lord Shuttleworth’s deputy in representing the Queen in the county. He is married and lives with his wife, Mary, in Leyland.

Col Jolley was formerly Commandant of the Lancashire Army Cadet Force before becoming the senior cadet officer in 42 (NW) Brigade in the role of Colonel Cadets, a post he held until retirement in 2009.

A previous High Sheriff of Lancashire, Col Jolley was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire in 2002 and was awarded an OBE in 2012 for service to the community.
