Preston Bus had to take three vehicles off the road for several hours after windows were smashed as they drove passed the Moor Park skate park last night.

It meant that many services were disrupted or delayed as company bosses looked to substitute buses from other routes.

Thomas Calderbank, spokesman for Preston Bus said: “Three buses had their windows put through because people have been throwing stuff from the skate park. It was happening all last week as well.

“It’s very frustrating because when you replace a bus window, the glue you have to use has to set for several hours.

“We can’t have buses going round without windows, so it’s caused a knock-on affect this morning.”

The buses are now believed to have been fixed and normal service resumed.

Mr Calderbank said Preston Bus was now calling on the police to step up patrols in the Moor Park area.
