The bones were unearthed at around 11am by a group of workmen who had been digging on Jameson Road in Fleetwood near Broadwater Caravan Park.

And after being sent to an anthropologist it was confirmed the bones belonged to a horse and not a human.

The area has since been cordoned off from the public.
