Police provide update on South Ribble crash in which teen was arrested & woman seriously injured
Lancashire Police have provided an update following a major South Ribble crash earlier this week.

Police were called to Hoghton Lane in Coup Green shortly before 3pm on Tuesday, January 20 to reports of a two vehicle crash.
Following the incident, which closed the road from Thornton Drive to Gregson Lane for four hours, it was confirmed that a woman had been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Other occupants in the vehicles suffered only minor injuries.
Police also stated that a 16-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified.
At the time, he was being questioned by officers.
Having been approached for an update today however, police have confirmed that actually the 16-year-old was de-arrested at hospital and will instead be interviewed at a later date.
To be ‘de-arrested’ means that the arrest is withdrawn, but it is different to being ‘released without charge’ as the individual has not been taken into custody and processed.
If someone has been de-arrested, the record of their arrest is removed but it does not mean they can not be re-arrested.
There are numerous reasons why someone may be de-arrested, for instance if no crime actually took place, if it’s in the public interest to delete the record, in cases of mistaken identity or breach of the peace situations whereby someone was just arrested for the pupose of being removed from the area.
Police were also unable to provide a condition update on the injured parties.
