Man in his 50s seriously injured after three car collision in Bolton-le-Sands

Fire crews from Morecambe and Bolton-le-Sands used cutters to release a man in his 50s who was trapped in a vehicle following the collision.

North West Ambulance Service said the man who was in a serious condition was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment.

The A6 between Bolton-le-Sands and Crag Bank was closed for more than two hours following the incident at around 5.30pm on Monday October 5.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue said they sent two fire engines to the scene, which involved a three vehicle collision with one person trapped.

A spokesperson said: "Firefighters extricated the one casualty from the vehicle using holmatro cutters and spreaders, lighting and small tools and was left in the care of North West Ambulance Service personnel.

"Firefighters were at the scene for one hour and forty minutes."
