Two charged with GBH as man remains '˜serious' in hospital

Detectives investigating the serious assault of a man in Chorley in the early hours of Friday have charged two men.

Richard Lowry, 33 and Marcus Hartley, 23, both of Gordon Street, Chorley, have been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.

They have been remanded to appear in Preston Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police were called by paramedics at around 1.50am after a local man in his thirties had been found with head injuries near to the Royal Mail offices at Chorley East Business Centre.

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Several people were seen walking away from the area just after the time of the assault and officers are asking anyone with information to come forward.

DI Jane Webb from Chorley CID said: “This has happened in the early hours, but hopefully someone will have seen something.

“We are still trying to trace a potential third man so if you know anything about him, or you have any information that could assist us with our investigation, please get in touch by calling 101 quoting LC-20151104-0066.”
