
Around 6.10am on Saturday (February 11) a 76-year-old woman had her handbag stolen in Whalley New Road, Blackburn.
Earlier in the month, on February 3, a newsagents was robbed on the same street.
Following extensive enquiries, police arrested two men in connection with the incidents.
Craig Cotton, 32, of Peridot Close, Blackburn, was charged with two offences of robbery and three offences of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

Conway Butler, 47, of Gretna Walk, Blackburn, was charged with robbery. This related to the incident on February 3.
Both were remanded to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court today (February 16).
