Teenage male taken to hospital after car crash near Preston

A teenager was taken to hospital with a leg injury after a collision in Higher Walton.

Emergency services attended a collision on Kittlingbourne Brow in Higher Walton this afternoon (February 18).

Police were called to the scene by the ambulance service at around 1.10pm.

The air ambulance was also in attendance.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police told said: "We were called around 1.10pm by the Ambulance Service following reports of a collision involving two vehicles in Kittlingbourne Brow, Preston.

"One of them is a Vauxhall Corsa.

"It looks like one person has suffered some injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

"A road closure was in place.

"At this stage we don't have any further information."

The ambulance service have confirmed they sent an air ambulance, three rapid response vehicles and a land ambulance to the scene.

A male in his late teens was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a leg injury.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1.03pm. We attended with an air ambulance, three rapid response vehicles and a land ambulance.

"We treated a male patient in his late teens and he was taken to hospital via land ambulance.

"He's got a leg injury. It's not thought to be life threatening."
