Sliproad linking the M60 and M62 closed after lorry loses control and crashes
A lorry which "lost control and struck the nearside barrier" has resulted in a diesel spillage resulting in long delays.
The sliproad linking the M62 and M60 has been closed after an HVG "lost control and struck the nearside barrier."
The crash has caused a diesel spillage across both lanes of the carriageway.
Police have confirmed that the driver has been assessed by ambulance crews at the scene.
They have reportedly suffered "very minor injuries."
A spokesperson for North West Motorway Police said: "This is the current scene on the M62 slip road to the M60 clockwise.
"Closure likely to be in place for sometime for recovery and clear up.
"Please consider alternative routes."
The eastbound slip road at junction 12, through Salford, has been closed as a result of the collision.
Traffic is building up in the area.
There are currently two diversion options in place:
- Traffic can join the M60 anticlockwise and come off at junction 11, then turn at the roundabout to join the M60 clockwise.
- Drivers can also continue on the M62 eastbound to join the M602, exit at junction 2 then turn at the roundabout to join the M602 westbound and follow the M60 clockwise link road.
Motorists are experiencing delays of up to 29 minutes, according to the AA
