At 8am today (Wednesday August 3), two lanes and the northbound exit slip road were closed at Junction 31 of the M6 northbound in Preston.

An overturned trailer had spilt two tonnes of turf rolls on the road, causing the closures and delays of up to 45 minutes between J28-J31.

By 10am, only one lane remained shut, and at 12:11pm, National Highways North West confirmed that all closures and delays have cleared.

All lanes and the slip road at J31 of the M6 northbound have reopened, following an overturned vehicle four hours ago.
