Preston city centre road closes today and will not reopen for five months as new traffic lights installed

People travelling by car may have to make changes to their travelling plans as Brook Street from Victoria Street to Fylde Road will be closed to all traffic from today until August 16 while the road is improved and new traffic lights installed.

Preston Bus has announced changes to three of its services during this time.

Service 31 and 44 will operate outbound as normal from the Bus Station to Friargate, and will then divert via Moor Lane, Victoria Street, Adelphi Street, Plungington Road and Eldon Street before resuming its usual route. The route inbound will be the same, reversed.

Service 23 will also operate outbound as normal from the Bus Station to Friargate, and then divert via Moor Lane, Victoria Street, Adelphi Street, Plungington Road. The route inbound will be the same, reversed.

All bus stops on the amended routes will remain in use.
