Ooops! I think I've scratched your supercars.....
A horrified driver was treated for shock after he accidentally crashed a £150,000 Lamborghini into a luxury car showroom.
The man, believed to be a photographer setting up a shoot, ploughed into the front of Amari Supercars in Preston, damaging up to two other cars inside, both thought to be Ferraris.
The smash happened yesterday afternoon after it is understood the man got behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe to move it into place for the pictures.
Eyewitnesses said the car, which can accelerate from nought to 62mph in just 3.4 seconds, suddenly lurched forward and crashed through the front window of the showroom on the Millennium City Park at Ribbleton.
One described the aftermath as “mayhem.”
“It had only just happened prior to me getting there,” he said. “This Lamborghini was embedded in the front window.
“Everyone was in a state of shock.
“It looked like it had jumped over others inside the showroom and was a right mess. I’ve never seen anything like it
“I think the young lad hit ‘launch control’ or something - that’s why it suddenly shot forward.”
Another said: “The Lambo was in a right state - and so too was the bloke who’d been driving it.
“An ambulance came and he got in with his face buried in his hands as if to say ‘What have I done?’”
The orange Lamborghini, which has a top speed of 202 mph and was up for sale at £152,995, looked to be badly damaged.
Bystanders said at least one Ferrari, possibly two, had also been damaged in the crash.
One car believed to be in the showroom at the time was a 1981 521BBi Boxer, a collectors’ item with a price tag of £274,995.
Amari director Saba Syed declined to discuss what had happened, although she dismissed the crash as “a minor incident.”
“It is not something I wish to comment on further,” she said. “Your information is not quite accurate.
“There was absolutely no injury at all. An ambulance was called for the wellbeing of the driver.”
