Lanes one and two (Of three) were closed, leading to delays for those heading to Blackpool and the Fylde this morning.

The crash also caused congestion at the Broughton Interchange, affecting traffic coming from the M6 northbound.

Highways reopened all lanes on the M55 westbound at around 9am after the vehicles had been moved to a place of safety.

But Highways has been forced to close another lane on the same stretch of carriageway at around 10am after a lorry burst its tyre.
