Lorry and car crash on A59 roundabout in Walmer Bridge

A crash on the A59 bypass in Walmer Bridge has led to traffic delays this afternoon (Friday, December 18).

Emergency services attended the crash scene, close to the Gill Lane roundabout, at around 1.15pm.

The crash involved a lorry and a Renault Captur, with significant damage caused to both vehicles.

Lancashire Police has confirmed that no injuries have been reported in the 'damage-only' collision, but an ambulance has attended the scene.

A police spokesman said: "This one is down as damage only. It happened at 1.13pm and involved a HGV and a Renault Captur."

North West Ambulance Service has been approached for further details.

The damaged vehicles are still awaiting recovery and traffic is slow on approach to the scene.
