Lancashire traffic: A59 Whalley Road closed between Preston New Road and Mellor Brook due to a crash

The A59 Whalley Road, near to BAE Systems in Myerscough, is currently closed due to a crash, police announced at 5.58 am today (November 17.)

The closure is in place from the junction with Preston New Road to Mellor Brook, and is expected to last for some time.

Taking to Twitter, Police said: “Please avoid the area and find an alternative route.”

As of 7.30 am the road remains closed, and we will provide further updates when they come in.
