Friends raise funds to pay for funeral of Preston biker Karl Chester
Friends of a Preston motorcyclist who died on the M62 motorway are raising funds to help pay for his funeral costs.
Married dad-of-three Karl Chester, 36, died on Good Friday after his silver Aprilia motorbike collided with a blue Nissan Qashqai close to the exit slip road at Junction 22, at around 11:25am.
He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Now, one of his good friends, Ryan Allsopp, has set up a Just Giving page to raise £350 to go towards the funeral.
The target has already been hit and stands at more than £500 as of today (Wednesday, April 4).
Ryan, who lives in Lincolnshire and has known Karl for more than a decade, said he is just doing his bit to relieve pressure on Ryan’s widow, Karen.
Ryan said: “As friends we want to help Karen and the kids to send Karl off the best way possible.”
Scores of tributes have been left on the JustGiving page.
Liam Winder said: “It was an honour to know and work with you.”
John Porter said: “Going to miss you Karl, life ain’t going to be the same without you. RIP my friend.”
Karl’s wife Karen, landlady of Barneys Piano Bar in Church Street, said: “He was absolutely loved by many. He has only left our sight, he will always ride strong in our hearts.
“Sleep tight my love and ride free.”
