Two fire engines from Fulwood and Longridge rushed to the scene of a car crash in Cumeragh Lane shortly after midday today (Tuesday, November 3).

One person who had become trapped in their vehicle was rescued by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment and a trauma pack.

Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour.

What is a trauma pack?

Designed for firefighters and EMT professionals, trauma bags fit all equipment needed for assessing and addressing injuries during an emergency.

The kit is designed to be more compact and lightweight, containing all of the vital equipment packed in a relevant order.

This means a firefighter can methodically work through a patient assessment using the kit.
