Derailed train causes services between Blackburn and Clitheroe to be cancelled

All rail services between Blackburn and Clitheroe have been cancelled due to a train derailment.

A freight train derailment between Blackburn and Clitheroe has blocked all lines today (March 9).

Services are unable to stop at stations between Blackburn and Clitheroe in both directions as a result.

Disruption is expected to continue until around 8pm today.

A spokesperson for Northern said: "Due to a train derailment earlier today between Blackburn and Clitheroe all lines will be blocked.

Train services running through these stations may be cancelled."

Norther has stated road replacement transport have been requested.
