Delays on southbound M6 after 4-vehicle crash

All lanes have now re-opened but drivers are still experiencing delays on the southbound M6 after a four-vehicle smash.

Lanes two and three were closed between junctions 33 and 32 for around 4 hours after a Vauxhall Insignia crashed into the central reservation at around 5.30am this morning, say police.

It is then believed that further vehicles then collided with the first car, they added.

Police have confirmed that a woman was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with non-life changing injuries.

A spokesman for NW Motorway Police said: "Four vehicles were involved [in the crash] they will be moved as soon as fire and ambulance services have finished working in the area."
