Crash and 'severe weather conditions' closes stretch of road between Oswaldtwistle and Haslingden

A large stretch of road was closed between Oswaldtwistle and Haslingden due to a collision and "severe weather conditions".

Grane Road was closed from Elton Road, near the Grey Mare, all the way through to the Holden Arms at approximately 6.50am on Thursday (February 24).

Police said this was "due to severe weather conditions and a road traffic collision," and the closure would be in place "for some time".

"Please can drivers take this into consideration when driving," a spokesman for Lancashire Police said.

In an update posted at 10.40am, police confirmed the road had reopened.

Officers said the collision involved two vehicles but it was "damage only.".
