2 lanes closed on the M61 in Lancashire after serious collision

Lancashire Road Police are urging caution after a serious accident on the M61.

Traffic is backing up to towards junction 6 after the collision between Rivington services and junction 8.

Police tweeted: We are currently at the scene of an RTC on the M61 NB between Rivington Services & jct 8.

"2 lanes are closed and traffic is backing up towards jct 6.

"Thankfully only minor injuries to the driver. "

Police also suggested that "at one point this would have been a nice example of a Japanese legend"
