UPDATE: Motorway lane and slip road back open following crash

A lane on the M6 and a slip road have been reopened following a crash on the main carriageway yesterday evening.

The incident happened at junction 38 near Tebay, Penrith, at around 5.10pm yesterday.

A southbound slip road was closed all night.

This morning, Highways England said they were also closing one southbound lane on the M6 between junctions 38 and 39 while the vehicle was recovered.

The road was reopened at around 11am.

A Highways Englandspokesman said: "Recovery complete, and Tebay southbound entry slip road is open and lane closure removed on the main carriageway. Thanks for your patience."
