Traffic conjestion on the M65 after rush hour crash

Highways England said the incident on the Westbound carriageway between J4 Blackburn Road, Darwen and J3 Withnell was a serious incident involving two cars and that the J4 entry slip road and main carriageway were closed.

The North West motorway police released an update at 5.30pm saying that there was a full closure at J4 and urged motorists to avoid the area.

Now the police say that they have cleared the debris and that all lanes have re-opened.

The North West motorway police Tweeted: “All lanes are open now. Traffic is flowing. Have a safe onward journey and thank you.”
