Road closures on M55, M6, M61, A585 and M58 set to cause delays of up to 30 minutes
Drivers in and around Lancashire will have 17 National Highways road closures to watch out for.
Most are expected to cause delays of between 10 to 30 minutes.

Hide AdNational Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
The latest expected works list shows that seven closures are already in place or are expected to take place this week:
• A585: From midday, May 23, 2023 to 11.59pm July 19, 2024 - Moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A585 northbound and southbound, Windy Harbour to Norcross Roundabout 0 traffic signals, narrow lanes and roundabout ring management Windy Harbour to Skippool improvement Scheme.
• M6: From 7am May 7 to 5pm June 26 - Moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 32 to junction 33 - Lane one closure for Cable bypass works on M6 Stewarts Wood northbound, Bridge.


• M6: From 9pm June 8 to 5am June 10 - Slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 both directions junction 9 to M6 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

Hide Ad• M6: From 9pm March 10, 2023 to 6am July 13, 2024 - Moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 32 to junction 33 - Lane closures for heat strengthening on bridge.
• M61: From 8am June 7 to 6pm June 11 - Slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound, junction 6 to junction 8 - hard shoulder only for horticulture (cutting and planting).
• M65: From 8pm April 15 to 6am June 17 - Slight delays (under 10 minutes): M65 eastbound and westbound, junction 5 lane closures due to improvement works.
• M65: From 8pm June 9 to 6am August 10 - Moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M65 East and westbound, junction 5 entry and exit slip road closures due to works for Blackburn with Darwen Council.

• M6: From 8pm June 11 to 6am June 13 - Moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 both directions junction 29 to junction 30 - lane closure for signs - erection.
• M6: From 9pm June 24 to 6am June 25 - Moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 29 exit slip road closure due to works for BT.
• M6: From 8pm June 10 to 6am June 22 - Slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, M61 Interchange to M6 junction 31 - lane closure for inspection/survey.
• M6: From 8pm June 11 to 6am June 13 - Moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 both directions junction 29 to junction 30 - lane closure for signs - erection.

• M61: From 9pm June 24 to 5am July 3 - Slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 8 to junction 6 - lane closure for horticulture (cutting and planting) on behalf of National Highways.
