New free public car park to open in Buckshaw Village next to Trinity School in Brookwood Way

A new free-to-use public car park will open next to a school in Buckshaw Village next month.

Homes builder Persimmon have begun surfacing the new car park in Brookwood Way, next to Trinity Primary School.

The new car park was a condition required by Chorley Council’s planning committee when it approved Persimmon’s most recent application to build more houses on the site.

Local councillor Aidy Riggott has been in contact with Persimmon who told him work on the car park is expected to be completed within three to four weeks - and should be open for use by mid-June.

He said: “Just to clarify, the car park doesn’t belong to the school and it isn’t their responsibility to maintain or manage any issues related to the usage of this space.”

The car park will be free to use, but it’s not clear at this stage what restrictions or limits will be introduced regarding length of stay.
