The works are taking place to install a new high voltage electrical supply to support new homes built by Barratt David Wilson Homes at Whittingham Road and Cumeragh Lane.

Utility infrastructure contractors PN Daly are undertaking the work which is expected to last into next year.

The works will be carried out in phases to reduce their impact, and traffic management arrangements will be monitored throughout.

A spokesperson for Lancs Highways said: “While these are not Lancashire County Council works, we've been working closely with the utility company and contractor to help coordinate the scheme and minimise disruption, particularly alongside other works in the area.

“We know there is already a lot happening on the local roads and appreciate your patience while these essential works are carried out.”
