Police warned to road would be “closed for some time”.

Heavy traffic was building after a crash on a busy road in Hutton.

Emergency services were called to a collision on the A59 Liverpool Road at approximately 4.30pm on Thursday (June 6).

The road was subsequently closed from Hickory’s Smokehouse to Lindle Lane.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “The road is closed due to a road traffic collision and we anticipate this will be closed for some time.”

Congestion was building in the surrounding area as motorists attempted to divert away from the scene.
